MICMAC FARM offers lodging
to
those looking for a place of seclusion and privacy far off the beaten
path. The property is situated in Down East Maine on the tidal portion
of the Machias River, nestled in the seclusion of fifty acres of woods
and surrounding fields.
The three
GUESTHOUSES have spectacular views of the river and are ideal for
families and travelers with pets. They are cozy, clean, and beautiful,
and each includes two
double beds with cots available for larger families. Each guesthouse is
also fully equipped with a kitchenette
so lobsters may be cooked in
as an alternative to going out. Guests will enjoy sitting on the lawn
watching the ebb and flow of the peaceful river.
The
GARDNER HOUSE is a restored
eighteenth century farmhouse and is the third oldest house in the
Machias area. There is only one guestroom in the house, so privacy is assured. In a relaxed, bed and breakfast atmosphere,
guests will enjoy access to three private areas: the Keeping Room for
breakfast, the
Library for relaxation, and the Guestroom for a peaceful night's sleep, with its luxurious king-sized,
pillow-top bed. |

There are
nature trials to hike, wild Maine blueberries to pick, humming birds to admire in the flower gardens,
and roaming fields to let the dog run - all on the same property. Guests
are encouraged to take
a casual walk along the shoreline paths where bald eagles, great
blue herons, and playful seals may be spotted. Guests may launch a canoe or kayak close
by and
paddle down the river's tranquil waters, or sometimes simply
unwinding in one of our Adirondack chairs, letting the gentle Maine
breeze sooth the soul, is the best way to enjoy the day. |
